Robin Hooding With Barack Obama

“Blessed are the poor, for they shall get free stuff,” the Messiah once said on the sermon on the mount.

Whoops, I guess I’m getting my political and religious figures mixed up. Barack Obama wasn’t the guy that gave the sermon on the mount, right? Or was he? After all, Jesus did rise from the dead again…

Then again, he never said that we’d get free stuff. Jesus, that is. Barack Obama seems to revel in telling the poor how much free stuff they’re going to get. The whole “spreading the wealth” concept.

The corollary to that, however, would be “cursed are the rich, for they shall lose what they have.” Of course, the real Messiah could just create more for everybody, if that was what he wanted, but it’s not that easy for Obama. There is a finite supply of wealth in a finite economy, and in order to give to the poor, Obama is going to have to take from the rich.

Well, hopefully you aren’t rich. Rich would include any of you who have a 401(k) or an IRA. If you do have those things, the government is hoping to confiscate those things for you, and replace them with a “Guaranteed Retirement Account”. Because of course, you can’t be trusted to manage your own money… and don’t you know, they were really lying to you about Social Security. There is no lockbox. They’ve been using a lot of that revenue to pay for running the government lately.

Of course, this has to pass first, but crazier things have happened. As long as we keep getting our free stuff, who cares about the Constitution?
