Believing Like Sarah

You’ve probably heard the story of Sarah in the Bible.  God promised her husband Abram that he would have a son, but when Sarai was in her eighties, they still were childless.  They figured that God had another plan, so they had Hagar give them a son.  Instead of waiting on God, they ended up creating a mess.  The Ishmaelites still fight with the Israelites today.

It’s easy to blame Sarai for her mistakes, but I for one often make the same types of mistakes.  I see our income continue to slide downward and I wonder if we’ll ever get ahead.  I look at all the chaos in the world and wonder when Jesus will ever come back.

I think that a lot of us probably feel like Sarah sometimes.  We wonder if God will ever come through with his promises, or if we interpreted the promises correctly.  But God never lies, and he can do anything.  Whether through our finances or in some other way.
