H1N1 is a Twitter trending topic… New News
Posted by Lorren on August 28, 2009
I have been following H1N1 since the first news of it came out this spring. My great-grandmother died of H1N1 in 1918, so the topic is of particular interest to me. Earlier this year, I listened to The Great Influenza by John M. Barry on audiobook, as I feared that there might be similarities to what happened in 1918 and what is happening here. I am still convinced that we could be following on the same path.
According to a report released today on Natural News.com regarding H1N1, the Massachusettes legislature has just passed a bill forcing citizens to evacuate, restricting or prohibiting the ability of people to assemble, allowing health officials to involuntarily transport (aka kidnap) individuals, set price controls, force vaccinations, impose a fine of $1000 per day for people who fail to comply, and force quarantine. Wow. This is from the Pandemic Response Bill, 2028.
In other news, less than half (48%) of 810 health care workers in Hong Kong polled by researchers said that they would get the H1N1 Vaccine. In another article published in the Emerging Threats Journal, only a handful of focus group participants in British Columbia (held prior to the pandemic) said that they intended on getting the flu vaccine either. Even the creators of the H1N1 Vaccine refuse to take it (see YouTube video below). The swine flu vaccine developed in the 1970s, similar to the current vaccine, has been linked to Guionne-Barre Syndrome.
The total number of swine flu deaths is up to 557 in Brazil. There have been 522 deaths in the US, and 1800 confirmed deaths worldwide.
