Surprise Party For Ahmadinejad by politix

Just recently, a secret nuclear facility was discovered in Iran. Some are concerned that Iran might be using it to develop a nuclear bomb (really?). Of course, Israel, who has been named by President Ahmadinejad as the target of their fury, is not happy, and would like the US to act.

Just like in the ancient Chinese curse, we live in interesting times. If the United States does not act, Israel most assuredly will. They are not going to sit by, let Iran develop nuclear weapons, and then obliterate them. They will take action, and if we are not supportive of them, they are likely to strike without even giving the US a heads-up. They have struck without warning before.

Nobody, except for maybe a few nutcases and people who wish to usher in the Apocalypse, wants war in the Middle East. I have said before that war could have a huge affect on the price of oil, and could cause a great hardship for the United States. We’re already in a recession (as is much of the rest of the world). A spike in Middle East oil will increase the price of oil everywhere.

I’m just thinking out loud here, but in the midst of a worldwide recession, a spike in oil prices and war could result in a worldwide depression. It could result in fulfillment of some of the prophecies in revelation. While I do want to see Jesus someday, I don’t look forward to the hardships that the tribulation period, predicted in the Bible, will cause. Who wants to see bad things happen?

The leadership of the United States seems to want to abandon Israel and the long-time alliance that we have had with them. President Obama is notoriously soft on Ahmadinejad. Way back in Genesis God promised to bless those that bless Israel, and curse those that curse the country. We need to pray for the safety of Israel, and for the good people in the Middle East (because the majority of the people there aren’t insane nutcases like Ahmadinejad). This is a long shot, but perhaps we should also pray that Ahmadinejad sees the truth about God and gives his life to Jesus.
