NO FARMS, NO FOOD by coastalyogagirl

Way back in 2007 and 2008, I wrote about the world’s food supply. There was a lot of food news going on at the time. Melamine was being found in baby formula and even chocolate that was made in China, after Hurricane Ike, the importance of not having food around the house was emphasized, and some people in other countries of the world were starving.
The food supply is back in the news. Farmers in California have had their water supply cut 90%, in order to save the delta smelt. Since it’s not raining a heck of a lot out in California, that means that California, that produces more food than any other part of the country, is not able to make as much food as it normally does. This might make food more expensive, and more difficult to obtain.
Don’t forget that we owe a debt that our country probably won’t be able to repay. If our dollar becomes worthless, we might not be able to import any food. Isn’t it important that we make enough food for ourselves?
