Another Christian Singer from American Idol

Even though I’m boycotting American Idol this year (I’m not a fan of Ellen’s), I’ve found it interesting how many Christian singers have come out of that show… Mandisa and Melinda Doolittle are probably the two biggest names that come to mind, but there are several others. Ruben Studdard released a Christian album, as did Chris Sligh last year.
I was filling out the music survey for my local Christian radio station, KFLR, and I noticed another American Idol can be added to the list… Phil Stacey. Stacey’s new single, With All My Heart
So if you listen to Christian music, be on the alert for one other Christian singer that has come from the ranks of American Idol.

Thanks for rating this song.I am a fan of Phil Stacey’s, and I would encourage you to listen to all of his cd, “Into the Light,” that includes “With All My Heart.” The latest, as far as a new single, tghat waas announced as to be released, is “Some Kind of Love.” As far as boycotting Idol, I do not like Ellen because of her lifestyle, but I believe she will be a good judge. I will hate to not allow myself to come to know more great singers, especially Christian, because of who the judge is. Yes, many a Christian singer has come out of Idol. Like Phil himself has said, many do well on the show and go on to have a music career, because they grew up singing in church and have a purpose for singing, which is to honor their God. So I definitely tune in to see who else that honors God will come out of the show.

Thanks for your comment. I hope to hear more from him in the future. As for not watching the show, I’ve been pretty busy with writing lately, so I’m really not missing it much. My husband still watches it, so I suppose if there’s anything really good (like the next Mandisa) then I’ll probably be able to see it.
