Posted by Lorren on April 7, 2010

As I continue to read The World Is Flat, I’m realizing that the world is becoming more competitive. While this provides opportunities, it also means that all the good jobs won’t be staying in the United States; they won’t necessarily be staying in the western world.

These jobs can be done by whoever is the most qualified, wherever they live. Education is important. Unfortunately, America is not doing so hot when it comes to education. In fact, most of western society discourages competition.

I wrote a longer article on the subject of American Educational Laziness. It was originally meant for the blog, but then it grew to over 800 words long, and I figured that was too much for the blog, so I posted it at the main site.
