We are 27 days away from the election. On November 6th, we will choose what kind of world we want to live in.
How often have we said that government is corrupt and we’d like an honest politician for once? While I don’t exactly agree with all of Romney’s policies, I do know that they’re a lot better than Obama’s. I also think that Romney is probably a pretty moral guy. Let’s compare the character of the two nominees:
Obama has lied to America numerous times. Right after he was sworn in, I was willing to give the guy a chance. He said that he wouldn’t hire lobbyists, and he would be transparent. Instead of doing what he said, he hired lobbyists, and will share information about “The Project,” which documents a plan that Islamists have to infiltrate our government, with terrorists, but won’t share that information with the American people, or even with Congress. We have had scandals like Fast and Furious; when one of the officers, Brian Terry, was shot, Obama couldn’t even remember his name. He failed to warn one of our ambassadors when he was in danger, and the ambassador was killed as a result. His attendance at the daily presidential intelligence briefings has been dismal. Let’s not forget that Obama told the Russians that after the election, “he will have more leeway”. That was transmitted to Vladimir.
Let’s look at Mitt Romney’s character. The media has pointed out that years after Mitt Romney left Bain Capital, a lady died because she didn’t have health insurance. They haven’t talked about how when one of his employee’s daughters was missing, he shut down his entire company and tasked several of his employees with finding her; she was found in a basement, fortunately, alive. Barack Obama won’t even help his own half-brother. When George Obama’s son was in the hospital and he needed $1000, he called D’Nesh D’Souza, not his brother the president, for help.
When the Nixon family was in a car accident, two of their children became paraplegics. Mitt Romney spent Christmas Eve with the family, and brought gifts for the two paralyzed children. He also paid for their college educations.
Once, he was speaking to a group of homeless veterans, and they told him that one of their biggest expenses was milk. Although Romney initially was thoughtless, suggesting that the homeless veterans learn to milk cows, he made up for his carelessness by anonymously paying for 1/2 of the bill for the milk deliveries for the next several years. It wasn’t until years after helping out with this bill that the deliveryman admitted that it had been Romney helping out with the bill all along.
In California, Reed Fisher’s home was in a fire. His son, Ethan, knew Matt Romney, Mitt’s son. They needed help cleaning up their yard, especially a stump left from a tree that had been burned down. Mitt Romney happened to be in the area at the time, visiting his son. When his son came out to help, Mitt came too. He was picking up a shovel and digging along with everybody else. This was during the 2008 presidential campaign.
So Romney put a dog on his car a couple of decades ago… then again, Obama ate dog. If the press had worse things to dig up on Romney, surely they would find it and report it. Character matters. Whose character do you want in the White House?
