She Annoys Me Greatly

An animal found on Survivor Philippines.Survivor began its twenty-sixth season this year with its new season: Survivor Caramoan: Fans vs. Favorites 2.  It was filmed back-to-back in the summer of 2012 along with the previous season, Survivor Philippines.  The season features ten players from former seasons (Survivor Philippines, South Pacific, Nicaragua, Fans vs. Favorites, Redemption Island, and Gabon).  Often in seasons like this, the former players have a huge advantage over the new players, and there seems to be unfairness in the game.  Still, it's Survivor, and anything can happen.

As soon as the fans stepped off of their boat and the favorites got out of their helicopters, Jeff had a challenge for them.  In this challenge, each tribe would send two players at a time to try to retrieve a life ring in the water and touch their "base" while holding on to the ring.  The other team would try to prevent them from getting the ring to their base, and would try to get the ring to their base instead.  As the game began, the fans took an early lead, thanks to a large former Marine named Shamar.  Phillip Shepherd, famous for appearing to be off his rocker in Redemption Island, wore a brand new pair of bright pink underwear for the occasion.  The rest of the points went to the favorites.  The game was aggressive.  In the third round, the game took a slightly ugly turn when Shamar shouted out "break her wrist!"  Jeff's response was "what?!?," which quickly caused Shamar to backtrack from his stance on trying to injure a teammate; he said that it was an expression.  The favorites, who were wearing purple and were part of the Bikal tribe, won flint and 20 pounds of beans for their early lead.

Just Eat Real Food Apron

The New Year often brings renewed interest in health and fitness to a lot of people.  I'm sure that I'll see a lot more people at my gym, for example.  It also brings a lot more sales of exercise equipment and fitness books.

If you're interested in a book that really explains how your hormones interact and causes you to either gain or lose weight, Sean Croxton's The Dark Side of Fat Loss is a great book.

This is not your everyday, calories in equals calories out diet book.  Sean Croxton has been working with real people for years - and as you may know, if you've ever tried a low calorie diet and didn't lose weight, it's not always Calories in Equals Calories out.  They did an experiment once where people actually gained weight while eating 300 calories a day.  It's often what you eat that matters, and less of how much.  The nutrition in your diet is what matters the most.  A 300 calorie a day diet consisting of Diet Coke and bread might not result in weight loss (and will probably make you sick).

This will be the last edition of News and Bible Prophecy until at least after the Thanksgiving holiday.  I will be lucky if I keep up with the news, let alone write about it.  I hope that you have a good Thanksgiving.  The way that things are going, it could be the last one before we meet Jesus in the air.

Israeli War Heats Up More

War in Israel is not winding down.  Benjamin Netanyahu says that Israel will do whatever it takes to defend itself.  Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton has come to the region to try to help.  Things don't look like they will be ending soon.  A Hamas leader, when asked about when a potential truce could be reached, said "maybe never".  At least he's honest.  They also proclaimed that "we love death more than you love life."

Today, a few particularly brutal incidents occurred.  In one incident, six suspected Israeli spies were pulled out of vans in the middle of an intersection and were shot.  The mob around them shot and spit on them.  Hamas tied another person to a motorcycle and drug them to their death.

The Mayan Calendar.

It’s December. If you believe the Mayan Calendar, then we have about 21 days of life as we know it left. I personally believe the Bible over the Mayan calendar, so I don’t believe in all that; however, I do believe that other people believe it. That could affect things in the next few weeks. That being said, Jesus said that we will not know the day nor the hour when he comes (Matthew 24:36), so I can feel pretty confident that the Rapture will not be this December 21st. Perhaps the 20th or the 22nd, but not the 21st.

Over the last week, I’ve noticed a disturbing trend: people imposing god-like attributes to President Barack Obama. Like I mentioned in today’s blog post, “Humans Working their Way to ‘Godhood’”, only God is God, and no human will ever be; however, throughout history, some people have promoted their leaders to god-status. This happened with Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, and many of the pharaohs. Jaime Foxx called Obama “Lord and Savior” and the crowd cheered. A painting (which was actually created in 2008) depicting Obama with a crown of thorns on his head, in a pose resembling Jesus’s crucifixion, made headlines this week as well. I has to make me wonder where we’re actually headed here. I’ve never seen anything like this before with any president in my lifetime (or read about it in American history books).

White House Currently Backs Israel in War

Israel and the terrorists in Gaza continue to fight into the weekend.  This truly could be the trigger that ignites World War III.  The world situation seems to have been smoldering since last spring, when a Tunisian fruit vendor set himself on fire, but this fight between Israel and Gaza may be the spark the widens the conflagration.

Earlier today, I heard that there was an Israeli plane that was shot down.  This could have been done with shoulder-fired missles.  A while back, there were several shoulder-fired missiles that went missing in Syria.  Could that be the spark that sets of Amos 1:3-4, where Damascus is destroyed?  Only time will tell, but that could be the spark that sets of Ezekiel 38-39.  I'm not sure if the world would fight against Israel simply because they're fighting against Gaza, but they might if Israel started firing upon other countries, like Syria.  Syria is aligned with Russia, Iran, China, and North Korea (a couple of days ago, a Chinese ship headed towards Syria carrying missile parts probably created in North Korea).

The White House is currently aligned with Israel.  They are currently saying that they have the right to defend themselves.  I personally don't feel that President Obama actually supports Israel, but the American people and many people in Congress do, and for now, the US is staying on their side.  Perhaps that might be a reason why the US is not listed among the nations in Ezekiel 38-39.  The US is also not listed in Revelation, but by that time, I don't think that the US will be any sort of powerhouse.
