Come Over to the Dark Side

As Survivor Caramoan: Fans vs. Favorites Episode 11 began, the tribe had just voted out Phillip.  Without him to perpetuate the “Stealth R Us” game, stealth nicknames were probably done with for the game.  The players were relieved.  This didn’t mean that the Favorites alliance was done with for the game though.  Malcolm, Eddie, and Reynold still would have a difficult time staying in the game, but between winning the challenges and finding all of the hidden immunity idols, it looked like the “Three Amigos” might be invincible.

Food was running out, and energy was low.  That was about to change quickly.  Treemail arrived; everybody received an envelope with $500 in it.  It was auction time.  Malcolm hoped to save all of his money to get an advantage in the game.

Zipping Over the Cuckoo’s Nest

In Survivor Caramoan Episode 10, things went crazy at Tribal Council, and some people thought that Dawn was going crazy too. Photo by defret. In many seasons of Survivor, there seems to be one person on the tribe where every time you see them, you just have to wonder “why don’t they vote that person out?”  Then week after week, they stay in the game.  In Survivor Caramoan Episode 10, things change in a big way.  The rest of the season will never be the same.  How it will be only remains to be seen next week.

There were obviously two different alliances: Malcolm, Eddie, and Reynold, against the rest of the tribe, which were a part of “Stealth R Us,” which was controlled by Phillip, who gave everybody secret agent names that probably nobody except him thought were endearing or cute.

Dawn shouted for somebody to come and help.  This is usually not a good sign.  Brenda ran out to the dock where she was standing to see what was going on, and found Dawn crying.  Evidently, Dawn had lost a couple of her front teeth, and had a retainer with false teeth in them; the retainer had fallen out into the water.  Dawn didn’t want to go on in the game without her teeth.  This might not have been a completely rational decision, as Dawn had been having trouble sleeping lately due to a fear of being blindsided, but Brenda was kind enough to put on a snorkel and mask and swim into the water to find it for her.  She was able to find it, and saved the day for Dawn.  Her behavior made some people think that she was going crazy, or "zipping over the cuckoo's nest" as Brandon Hantz had.

Survivor Caramoan Fans Vs Favorites Episode 8

Blindside Time

In Survivor Caramoan, Fans Vs. Favorites Episode 8, the two tribes merged.  A dwindling number of fans knew that they had to do something if they were going to have any hopes of surviving.  In the meantime, the players got to enjoy (or not) a gross food eating challenge.

After Bikal returned from tribal council, Phillip took Corinne and Dawn aside to tell them that he had decided, at the very last minute, to throw the challenge.  While Phillip might have convinced himself that this was true, Corinne and Dawn weren’t exactly buying it.

Cut Off the Head of the Snake

In Survivor Caramoan: Fans vs. Favorites Episode 9, the Favorites still seemed to have an upper hand.  Phillip’s alliance seemed to have a stranglehold on all the players, but not everybody was in line.  Malcolm, for example, had allied with Corinne, who had been voted out at the previous tribal council.  The Fans knew that they had to do something to break up Stealth R Us if they were to stay in the game; the only question was, how were they going to do it?

As the episode began, Phillip decided that he wanted to induct Sherri into the Stealth R Us alliance with the name “Tenacity.”  Sherri wasn’t a big fan of Phillip’s, but she was willing to put up with him if it meant staying in the game.  Eddie and Reynold weren’t big fans of hers; if they had been willing to put their differences aside, they might have been able to recruit her over to their side.

Tubby Lunchbox

In Survivor Caramoan Episode 7, Phillip should go, but nobody wants to stand against him. Photo by vivekchughIn Survivor Caramoan Fans Vs. Favorites Episode 7, Bikal continued to have difficulty in the challenges.  One person in particular seemed to be holding them back.  The fans are in the minority, and are battling to stay in the game.  In addition, Corinne and Phillip feud within their alliance about the way their tribe should be run.

What to do With Phillip?

Phillip seems to be full of his own power in this game.  His animosity with Corinne was growing.  He was now upset that Corinne would go talk to other people without going back to report to him what they had discussed.  This was very like the way Boston Rob played; however, Phillip is no Boston Rob.

When Treemail came and everybody discovered that the challenge would require strength, Phillip bragged about how strong he was.  He told everybody about how his training regimen didn’t cause him to get bulky.  He does have some upper body strength; he demonstrated this by challenging Cochran to an arm wrestling challenge, and Cochran even had trouble beating him even with both hands.  Being able to beach Cochran in an arm wrestling challenge really isn’t much to brag about though; I doubt that Cochran sees the inside of a gym very often.
