With all that's going on today, it's time for another News and Bible Prophecy update.  I'm sorry to have to move these off of the HubPages web site where I originally was publishing them, but it looks like the spammers are ruining it for everybody again.  They have now introduced a "pending" status where your pages won't be indexed for up to 24 hours after you publish, in order for them to take a look at your page to make sure that it's not inadequate or breaks their rules or anything.  Since my News and Bible Prophecy pages are time-sensitive, I'm not really willing to wait; so these articles will be coming to Brookelorren.com from now on.  While the publishing format is a little more difficult here without their cool little widgets, I'll be free to publish whatever I want with whatever links I want.

There are a couple of major, timely things going on right now, as well as a few ongoing events that should be covered.  The US East Coast is facing a potentially crippling storm, while there is also a storm going on in the political realm.  The Blaze has been complaining that most of the media is focusing on the weather, while Fox and The Blaze are focusing more on the political storm.  They both seem to be equally important topics.

Obama Administration's Shameful Action in Libya

The political storm of the day is Libya.  There is a lot going on here.  I'll break it down into it's individual parts:

1) Why Christopher Stevens was in Benghazi

The first problem to the Libya story was why Christophen Stevens was in Benghazi in the first place.  Stevens was running guns into Syria through Turkey.  On the night that Stevens was killed, he met with a Turkish representative.  While he was meeting with the Turkish representative, the place was already being watched by the people who would eventually attack the ambassador.  The Turkish representative was allowed to leave the CIA safe house safely before the attack began.

Russia warned the US not to get involved in Syria in this manner, as sending guns to Syria could only serve to destabilize the nation.

2) The preventable murder of Americans

The murder of Ambassador Stevens and the other Americans could have been prevented.  A drone was flying over the area at the time, so the US knew that there was something going on at the embassy that night.  On top of that, the Americans asked for help, but help was denied three times.  There were forces available to help in the area, but no help was sent.  The fight lasted for hours, yet a plane from Italy could have arrived there within one hour to go rescue them.

3) The cover up

What actually happened at Benghazi was covered up by Obama and his friends.  Initially, the attack was blamed on a video.  The government claimed that there were protesters outside the CIA safe house, which was initially labeled a consulate, that were upset over a YouTube video (that was really stupid) that didn't portray Mohammad in a good light.  In response, Obama said that there was no future for people that blaspheme the prophet Mohammed.  There were even attacks on US free speech.  Some people said that other countries didn't understand our free speech, and perhaps the US should change it.

4) The treatment of family members of the killed soldiers

The way that the top governmental officials have treated the families of the soldiers that died in this attack is shameful.  Charles Woods, one of the fathers of one of the dead SEALS, was asked by Joe Biden “Did your son always have balls the size of cue balls?”  Hillary Clinton told him that she would “make sure that the person who made that film is arrested and prosecuted," when we KNOW that the attack had nothing to do with a video and that the filmmaker had the right to make the film because freedom of speech is guaranteed by the Constitution.

The Bible says that in the last days, people will be "unloving, unforgiving, slanderers without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God" (2 Timothy 3:3-4).  That doesn't describe the soldiers that risked their lives to try to save the ambassador, but it does describe some of the people who watched them die and did nothing about it when they could have helped.

"Frankenstorm" Threatens to Hit East Coast Next Week

People living on the East Coast, beware.  There is a massive storm approaching.  This storm, dubbed "Frankenstorm" is a combination of Hurricane Sandy and a cold front coming in from the North.  It is supposed to hit the East Coast early next week.  Estimates say that the storm could cause $1 Billion in damage.

Please pray for the safety of the people there, and if you live in the area, please get prepared.  Who knows exactly how bad this storm will be?  Will you end up without power?  The storm's nearness to the election is troubling.  Sometimes, when storms like this hit, people can end up without power for days.  If the storm hits a week prior to the election, could there still be some places without power on election day?  Would the election be postponed?  Pray that things will be okay with that as well.

Matthew 24 speaks of troubles in the earth as a sign of the times before the Lord's return.  It specifically mentions wars, earthquakes, famines, and pestilence, but in general, there is an indication of turbulence on the earth.  Romans 8:22 says that "we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now."  In labor, the pains get stronger and quicker at the very end.

Tremors at the Louisiana Sinkhole

Here's another event that is quite odd.  There is a massive, four-acre sinkhole in Louisiana.  In the sinkhole are gasses that could be potentially dangerous, especially if they explode.  Recently, there were some small quakes at the sinkhole.  Earthquakes in diverse places are specifically mentioned in Matthew 24:7.

More Earthquakes

Speaking of earthquakes, there has been an earthquake swarm in Iceland (particularly northern Iceland) lately.  They fear that there will be a stronger earthquake to come.

There was a shallow 5.3 earthquake that ended up killing one person in Italy.

EMP Attacks on the Horizon?

Here's a good reason to get your Faraday cage completed to protect against an EMP attack.  Boeing has successfully tested a weapon that can send an EMP blast out and knock out electronic equipment, but not kill people.  A Faraday cage can keep your electronic equipment from being destroyed.  Store your emergency electronic equipment inside.  Store anything else that you'd like to keep safe inside as well.
