The 2012 election is over, and the Christian United States lost big time.  We should never forget what the Bible said about the nation of Israel: "I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee" (Genesis 12:3).  Over the past four years, Barack Obama has not supported Israel through his actions; whether knowingly or ignorantly, the American people have decided to vote a curse upon themselves.  I hope we all enjoy them.

Nevertheless, the Bible has predicted that this all would happen in the past.  Even as early as the mid-1990s, I knew that the United States was not in the end-times prophecies of the book of Revelation.  Back then, everybody was saying that the USA was Babylon, but I wasn't buying it.  There is a literal Babylon, and from what my research suggests, they will become a wealthy nation at some point in time.  God is on the throne, he knew that this would happen, and it has all been prophesied in the past.  It doesn't mean that it's any easier to live though.

Voters Say Yes to Immorality

In addition to voting yes to dependence upon government and no to God and Israel, the American voter has also voted yes to immorality in several different states.  Washington and Colorado voted yes to recreational marijuana use, and voters in Maine and Maryland voted yes to same-sex marriage.

While I do not believe that you can really legislate morality, these votes do show what is in people's hearts: and they are not seeking God.  Hemp itself is actually a useful plant, that can be used to make sturdy clothes and can actually provide nutrition; that's not what voters were really going for though.  Similarly, you can't make someone's heart turn towards God, any more than you can force someone against their will to violate their conscience when they are really determined to follow God.  It is sad to see that people's hearts aren't seeking the Lord though.

What we are seeing is just a small taste of what people will get to experience during the Tribulation.  Revelation 9:21 says that in the Tribulation "Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts."  In that one verse, we can see almost the whole election last night.  Americans murder their unborn through abortion, and they believe that fornication is just fine (it's not just same-sex marriage that bothers God, it's also the straight people that commit adultery or cohabit with someone they are not married to).  The word for sorcery in that verse is actually pharmakaea, where we get our word pharmacy from; the vote for drugs also fits into that verse.  All we have left are thefts; do you really think that there's not a lot of theft going on?  So last night was a great night for those who support the vices listed in Revelation 9:21.

Korea is on the Brink of War

Of course, the US is not the only country in the world; the rest of the world seems to be marching towards the Tribulation as well.  North and South Korea seem to be on the brink of war.  Jesus spoke of "wars and rumors of wars" that would be present before his return (Matthew 24:7).  There's also a war against Israel that needs to be fought before the end (Ezekiel 38 and 39).  While I'm not going to be dogmatic about it, I personally believe that the war of Ezekiel 38 and 39 has to start before the Rapture.  Why?  Because the Bible says that Israel will be using the weapons left behind for fuel for seven years.  Since the Tribulation will only last seven years, I think that the war has to start before then.  Will Korea be involved in this war?  I don't know, but it looks like something is going to snap, big time, with regards to the precarious peace that our world is currently experiencing.

Chinese Woman Against One-Child Policy Sentenced to Labor Camp

The United States, of course, is not the only country which is really into limiting the amount of children that you have through abortion and birth control.  China is much farther down this road than the United States, even going as far as having a one-child policy; they don't take too kindly to people who speak out against this policy either.  Mao Hengfeng, who is an advocate against China's one-child policy, was sentenced to a year and a half in a Chinese labor camp.  China is likely to be one of the major countries behind the "kings of the East" that go against Israel in the Battle of Armageddon.  One good note though: God will win that battle.

New York and New Jersey Still Not Doing So Hot

The people in New York City are still having trouble.  While some once again have power, others are gathering everything that they can to defend themselves: knives, bats, swords, whatever; in order to defend themselves against looters.  In addition, they will be battling another storm in the next couple of days.  In some areas in New Jersey, evacuations of low-lying areas have been ordered.  Please continue to pray for the people there.

Other Headlines

Although things look dark, God is still in control.  Although many in this world have rejected him, what would happen was known centuries ago.
