White House Currently Backs Israel in War

Israel and the terrorists in Gaza continue to fight into the weekend.  This truly could be the trigger that ignites World War III.  The world situation seems to have been smoldering since last spring, when a Tunisian fruit vendor set himself on fire, but this fight between Israel and Gaza may be the spark the widens the conflagration.

Earlier today, I heard that there was an Israeli plane that was shot down.  This could have been done with shoulder-fired missles.  A while back, there were several shoulder-fired missiles that went missing in Syria.  Could that be the spark that sets of Amos 1:3-4, where Damascus is destroyed?  Only time will tell, but that could be the spark that sets of Ezekiel 38-39.  I'm not sure if the world would fight against Israel simply because they're fighting against Gaza, but they might if Israel started firing upon other countries, like Syria.  Syria is aligned with Russia, Iran, China, and North Korea (a couple of days ago, a Chinese ship headed towards Syria carrying missile parts probably created in North Korea).

The White House is currently aligned with Israel.  They are currently saying that they have the right to defend themselves.  I personally don't feel that President Obama actually supports Israel, but the American people and many people in Congress do, and for now, the US is staying on their side.  Perhaps that might be a reason why the US is not listed among the nations in Ezekiel 38-39.  The US is also not listed in Revelation, but by that time, I don't think that the US will be any sort of powerhouse.

Israel and Palestine Duke it Out

Perhaps the most important news of the day in regards to prophecy is the ongoing fight between Israel and Palestine (not the demise of Hostess and Twinkies).  If you have one subject to keep up-to-date on in the upcoming days (until the war is over), this is the one to watch.

During the fighting, Israel hit the office belonging to the office of the Prime Minister of Hamas, among other targets.  75,000 Israeli Defense Force (IDF) reserve troops have been called up.  Many believe that a ground war is in the works.

Israel is warning locals to prepare for up to seven weeks of fighting.  In the meantime, the Arab world, including Egypt, has already sided against the Israelis.

Jordanians Call for the End of the Monarchy

Also in the Middle East, Jordan is facing a bit of instability.  The people of Jordan have been calling for the end of the monarchy, protesting against the reigning king, Abdullah II.  So far, there have only been demonstrations, but if there is a change in the power structure of the country, it could have ramifications in the rest of the Middle East.  With the world teetering on the brink of war, any changes in power could change things; power shifts in the Middle East, where most of the current disputing is, could make the most difference right now.

Petraeus Scandal Reveals Much

General Petraeus, who had to resign from his position in the CIA after it was revealed that he had been having an adulterous affair, testified in court on Friday.  What was discovered on Friday reveals much.

During his testimony, he revealed that he knew that the September 11th attack on the Libyan CIA safe house had been a terrorist attack.  This could potentially land him in jail later on, because what he said contradicted some of his earlier testimony, but he did the right thing through his testimony.

In other related news, Jill Kelley, who is connected with the Petraeus scandal, may have some spy connections.  It may have been her job to push the Islamic agenda and help Hezbollah infiltrate the military command.  She held parties for elite officials in the US government, in an attempt to influence US policy in the Middle East.
